People enjoy fads in foods and beverage now-a-days, such as boba tea and
liquid nitrogen treats. However, these things can be unhealthy and even dangerous.
I recently read about someone who was rushed to the hospital due to stomach pains caused by a
liquid nitrogen beverage. When I read about this I thought about my blue water (my filtered water with
mint and dried butterflypea flowers) which turns blue within minutes due to dehydrated butterflypea flowers.
If people are attracted by weird tapioca balls and liquid nitrogen ice cream, they may be attracted to a light
blue tea/ice cream/treat/latte/alcoholic beverage that looks cool and isn't bad for you.

visual entertainment but are unhealthy and dangerous. It should be a fad to eat something healthy as

need, its more of a desire but if people are willing to spend their money on Boba Tea they may be
willing to spend their money on this type of iced tea.

1. Most people don't care as much about their health as they should. LOL
2. People actually like boba tea which I dont understand the appeal at all.
3. People don't always exactly care to knoe the ingredients of their products since
they don't plan on consuming it so frequently.

Hey Ellie! I think this a great opportunity because most people love visually appealing foods and will often by products like that simply because of how it looks. That being said, health risks are becoming more and more apparent nowadays so being able to have a product that is both would be key. As you found, people are open to new food trends and wants healthy food; a great example we see of this is the huge trend in asai bowls or other type of healthier quick food places. Definitely could benefit from this opportunity!

ReplyDeleteI think that you did an excellent job on this assignment, and presented a great opportunity. For example, I had no idea that there were health risks that could come with eating some of these foods and consuming some of these drinks. I also feel that nowadays, people are increasingly interested in trying new foods while at the same time, looking to take care of their body and eat healthier foods. I think that if you were able to exploit this opportunity to the fullest extent, that you could potentially see some really strong profits that come from a strong product.
Hey Ellie, first off, I had no idea that these things you mentioned like the boba tea and the liquid nitrogen treats were unhealthy and potentially harmful. With that being said, I think this is a great opportunity and you did a great job identifying the key components of the problem. I definitely want to go read your next blog post and see what you have in mind as a solution. I think there is definitely a market for the visually appealing foods/drinks, especially with the enterprise that is social media and sharing. Great job!
